Explore The Hair Color that Suits you

Published April 7, 2013 by teacher dahl

We all know that Asian women usually have black to dark brown hair. Of course it is advisable that we stick to our original hair color but then, coloring tresses is now considered a trend. That’s why most women  nowadays explore the beauty of hair coloring. You must be careful in choosing your hair color though for it can have a big effect on your over-all look. So here are some tips on picking the right hue.

If you are a low-maintenance kind of woman, it is better that you stick to your original hair color or opt for something dark such as brown. Dark hair reflects light best so hair damage such as breakage and split-ends won’t be as obvious. Brunettes don’t need much hair treatments since their hair don’t usually look dry and brittle. However, it is advised that you stay away from hairspray and go for hair serum to make it look shiny and healthy.

If you really want another color though, check your skin tone first. Skin tones can be cool or warm . Expose your arm in the sun and look at the veins. If the veins appear green, then you have a warm skin tone. If it appears blue, then you have a cool complexion.

If you have a COOL complexion, the following colors can look good on you:

Jet Black: Jet black hair is one of the most striking colors, and it typically works best on darker skin tones, unless of course you’re going for a real statement. In that case, lighter skin tones can make jet black work, too. Steer clear of the black hair color with blue undertones, though, as it can make you look sickly, especially if you have blue undertones in your face.

  • Dark Golden Brown: Deeper skin tones or olive skin tones can go for a dark golden brown, which has just subtle hints of a warm honey gold in the brown color range.

Light Ash Blonde: The palest of blondes that has hints of ash, or a whitish tint with pale green and blue undertones, and suits ladies with pale skin tones well. If you’ve got rosy undertones to your skin, ash will be even better, as the green and blue undertones in your ash hair will neutralize the rosy undertones in your skin. To keep light ash blonde hair from yellowing, use a purple shampoo and conditioner.

Light Auburn: Light auburn is the closest color to naturally red hair, and it works best on super fair skin tones with light eye colors. If you’re dyeing your hair this color, be sure to keep your eyebrows in mind, too.

Medium Champagne: Skin with pink or rosy undertones works well with the beige tones of medium champagne hair. The green and blue tints in the champagne color will counteract the pink undertones of the skin.

Cool Brown: This medium brown hair color with cool undertones is great for girls with cool skin tones. Makes sense, right?

Light Brown: Light brown hair typically looks one-dimensional and natural, and works for medium skin tones both cool and warm. Also, this is a great base color if you’re going to get blonde highlights at some point.

Espresso: A rich espresso brown color is gorgeous for medium and darker skin tones and darker eye colors. If you’re fair skinned, espresso may look a bit unnatural on you

Chocolate Brown: A rich, true brown hair tone, chocolate brown works for medium and olive skin tones, as well as those with hazel and brown eyes.

Reddish Cinnamon: Reddish cinnamon hair works on cool skin tones. Be extra careful with this one, though, because it can fade quickly. Be sure to use color treated shampoo, and try to wash your hair as little as possible to keep the color vibrant.

Make sure that when you decide to have these colors, intense care must be maintained. Avoid sun exposure and harsh shampoos to lengthen the radiance of this color. Hot oil and treatments are a must to maintain the shine, while blow-drying is something to be avoided.

Be prepared to sit for long hours in the salon and endure a bit of pain when you opt for something light such as blonde. It is because to be able to lighten your naturally dark hair, bleaching must be done. Keep in mind that light colors need high-maintenance. You will need regular touch ups to avoid dark roots. You will also need regular hair treatments for you will be prone to dry hair.
